LIVE DRUMMING BY THE DIVA DRUM COLLECTIVE! This is an experience that truly nurture your soul... This 3-hour healing workshop takes us on a journey into Africa and into ourselves. We use it as a metaphor for life, and we take this opportunity to let go of what does not serve us and embrace life more fully. Would you like to experience being celebrated by an entire tribe? In this workshop, we are not doing anything, we are being and we are feeling... We feel our steps and we allow ourselves to be FREE. Using African wisdom, story telling, music and dance, we celebrate being a woman in a safe, supportive and trly loving environment. Come and join us. You will feel like you are... back home, in the village.
>> What can African dance do for you?
Dance therapists believe that mental and emotional problems are often held in the body in the form of muscle tension and constrained movement patterns. Dance movements promote healing in a number of ways. African dance has been used as a tool to heal individuals and communities for generations and generations. In fact in Africa, the first healers and spiritual leaders were dancers . Through the guidance of Jacky Essombe, African Healing Dance can help you open the dialogue within yourself. By opening yourself and your body to African dance, you move to a place of greater acceptance, which leads you to experience: A better sense of self and what is truly important to you A feeling that you are being heard A deeper connection with yourself and with others A sense of true peace More happiness and joy
>> Other benefits of African dance :
On a purely physical level, dance provides the benefits of exercise: improved health, well-being, coordination and muscle tone. On an emotional level, it helps you reduce stress and feel more joyous and confident. Who is this workshop for? YOU!
